50 Random Things About Me

Hi, Everyone!!  I can't believe I've started a blog!  I thought I'd start with 50 random facts about myself.  Nothing like diving into the way my brain works.

1. I love teaching.

2. Family is my life.

3. We have 3 dogs, 2 horses and a cat.

4. I never learned to sew until a couple of years ago.

5. I love to laugh.

6. I tutor writing classes for homeschooled kids.

7. My husband is the hardest working man I know.

8.  I'm starting this blog on the same day my daughter is starting hers.  We're sitting side by side on the couch writing. How's that for bonding?

9. Jesus is Number 1 in my life.

10. I love my two kids!  Anna and David.

11. The kids call my little white bichon dog "Rat Puppy."  I have to admit that now I do, too.

12. The moms of my students are the best.

13. The "Fab Five" is a group of friends that have been there for me through thick and thin. You know who you are.

14. I'm a twin.

15. My twin has twins. My uncles are twins. One of them has twins. My great-grandmother was a twin. My doctor said twins don't run in families.  I don't believe him.

16. I love watching my husband watch tv. He loves to laugh whether he will admit it or not.

17. I did not grow up around animals.  I now live in a zoo and love it.

18. I love to read.

19. I cannot keep up with laundry.  Especially socks. I hate socks. And they hate me. 

20. Teenagers are exasperating. They know everything.  I am learning to love them anyway.

21. I recently starting quilting.

22. I am a terrible housekeeper.

23. My driveway scares me.

24. My husband has a dozen or more projects going at any one time.

25. I would rather work on lessons for my classes than almost anything.  I’m such a nerd.

26. I have younger sister who is a sweet friend. 

27. My parents are loving and supportive.

28. Brody, our oldest dog, has sleep apnea.  I can hear him snore from upstairs.

29. I enjoy playing cards with my girlfriends.

30. I love the Smokey Mountains.  It’s my favorite getaway.

31. I need to get away!

32. I’m addicted to carbs.

33. My daughter is beautiful inside and out.  I mean that.  Love that kid!

34. Our family loves watching old tv shows together.

35. In spring, I always say spring is my favorite season.  In fall, I always say fall is my favorite season.  Not much of a fan of winter and summer.

36. I never had college algebra or geology until my son took them this semester. 

37. My mother-in-law is the sweetest woman I know.

38. I love hugs.  Especially from my students.

39. Our family gets to take great trips with my husband.  New York was our favorite.

40. I still like Veggie Tales.  The earlier ones.

41. I hate painting trim.

42. I don’t want to grow up.

43. I tend to overcook for any event.  By a lot.  Like come on over platoon.

44. My son is the most forgiving person on the planet.  Don’t know how I deserve that jewel.

45. Next year I will be teaching writing classes to kids from 3^rd grade to 11^th grade.   

46. I have a handgun permit.

47. I love thunderstorms.

48. I hate coffee but love hot cocoa.

49. I love bright colors.  

50. I married the only man I dated. Good move.  He’s still putting up with me.
